Motorists are being warned to plan ahead due to a planned road closure on the A465 between Hereford and Abergavenny.
From Herefordshire Highways:
We need to inform you about the upcoming roadworks on the A465, from Howton Farm to the County Boundary in Pontrilas. We will be installing a concrete Vehicle Restraint
System (VRS) to replace the current damaged one.
The roadworks will be carried out under a road closure on the following dates and times:
– Monday, 1st December to Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, from 20:00 to 06:00 each night.
– Sunday, 7th December 2025, from 20:00 to 06:00.
During these periods, the road will be closed, and a signed diversion route will be in place via A465 / B4521 Mardy / A466 / B4348 Wormelow and vice versa. Please note that there will be no access through the closure during these times.
If you require assistance or guidance, our dedicated marshals on site will be available to help.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. At Balfour Beatty we work in partnership with Herefordshire Council to minimise the impact of our work and aim to keep disruptions to a minimum – we appreciate your patience.
