Museum of Cider to Host First-Ever Perry Fest on Saturday 4th October
The Museum of Cider in Hereford is excited to announce its upcoming celebration of the county’s rich Perry-making heritage with Perry Fest, taking place on Saturday 4th October 2025, 11am -6pm. For one special day only, the museum will be rebranded as the Museum of Perry, honouring an historic and uniquely regional drink. Working in partnership with the Three Counties Cider and Perry Association, the day aims to celebrate this rare drink made from pears.
The festival will feature an array of expert tastings, talks and displays on Perry in Herefordshire, and plenty of opportunities to discover how this traditional drink connects with the region’s identity. Visitors can also enjoy local food, live music, a fully stocked shop and CAMRA bar. There will be craft activities, and visitors can try their hand at board games with the Hereford Boardgamers or the pop-up skittle alley in the cider cellars. It will be a full day of festivities for Perry lovers and the wider community.
Entrance to the museum will be free of charge on the day to all visitors.
Elizabeth Pimblett, Director of the Museum of Cider, said:
“Perry Fest is about much more than just enjoying a delicious drink – it’s a celebration of the annual harvest and the traditions that have shaped our landscape and our culture for centuries. For this special day we’ll be transforming ourselves into the Museum of Perry, offering visitors the chance to explore the stories, flavours, and people behind this remarkable part of Hereford’s heritage.”
The event aims to shine a spotlight on Perry, often overshadowed by cider, and provide a platform for local producers to showcase their craft. Whether you’re a curious newcomer or a seasoned enthusiast, Perry Fest promises a day of discovery, community, and celebration.
