Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to an incident in Herefordshire on Tuesday.

From Hereford Fire Station:

“We were called for a re inspection following a field fire earlier today near Much Dewchurch.

“Small pockets of fire identified and hotspots damped down using a hose reel jet.”

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has also issued a warning about bonfires following a number of fires in the county over recent weeks.

Recently we have attended numerous incidents across the county where bonfires have got out of control and spread to nearby hedges, grassland and outdoor structures. 🏡🔥

Please be #WildfireAware and avoid lighting fires in these dry conditions. Also, here’s some other tips:

Avoid having camp fires.

Discard of cigarettes appropriately, ensuring they’re fully extinguished.

Don’t leave glass items in the sun, take all litter home with you and dispose correctly.

Use BBQ’s wisely, do not use disposable BBQ’s on dry grass / vegetation. Maybe try a picnic instead.
