Police are appealing for information after a dog attacked a man in Tewkesbury.
The dog, believed to be an XL Bully, was reported to have bitten the victim during the incident on Gander Lane, close to the cricket club, at around 9.40pm on Monday 21 July.
The victim was able to escape the dog by climbing over a fence and jumping into the river, but suffered bites to his arms and legs which required treatment at hospital.
Following a number of enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage, officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They want to trace the dog owner to provide an account of what happened.
The owner of the dog was described as being white, around 5ft 7ins in height, and of a stocky build. He was in his 30s and was believed to be wearing a pale T-shirt.
He walked off in the direction of Priors Park following the incident.
