Update on Commercial Road Emergency Repairs from Welsh Water:
“We’re continuing our emergency repair work to a collapsed sewer main on Commercial Road, Hereford.
“During our excavation, we’ve found considerable volumes of fat and wet wipes in the sewer that our specialist teams continue to clear.
“We’ve also found a further collapse 18m upstream under Monkmoor Street and have therefore completely closed it for pedestrian safety.
“The additional repair work and blockages uncovered mean we will unfortunately need more time to complete the repair under Commercial Road.
“We are working hard to do these repairs as quickly as possible.We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank people in Hereford for bearing with us.”
