Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum covers a big area – 170 acres to be precise.
From Herefordshire Wildlife Trust:
To help people with accessibility needs explore further than before, we now have two new electric mobility scooters (“trampers”) that arrived in the Spring.
Before setting off, users get a quick tour around the controls then use a printed map to find their way around the stone surfaced paths and woodland tracks. Visitors tell us that using these sturdy trampers, they feel safe over any uneven ground.
We’ve been thrilled with the positive feedback. One gentleman was delighted to be able to get as far as the viewpoint for the first time to see a tree dedicated to his wife.
Another couple, both with accessibility needs, were able to take out the two trampers and explore Queenswood together.
Please contact the Visitor Centre in advance if you would like to hire the trampers to ensure one is available when you visit: 01432 356872 enquiries@herefordshirewt.co.uk.
A big shout out to the E F Bulmer Trust, Eveson Trust, Nineveh Trust and the Turner Trust for funding the trampers, part of the Accessible Queenswood project Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum.
