More people can now access NHS dental treatment in Herefordshire as the second of two NHS practices opened this week in Hereford.
The first of two practices announced last year, Central Hereford Dental Care, operates from premises on Commercial Street in Hereford, with a second practice Saxon Dental, located at Saxon Hall Putson Community Centre opened on 1 July 2025.
People can book for non-emergency dental treatment at the Saxon Hall location online or by telephone. Patients will be asked to provide their contact details and to answer some questions about their need for dental treatment.
Appointments will be offered based on clinical need and priority. It is not a “first come first served” system.
Patients will be triaged according to need whether you use the phone line or the online form.
Karen Payton, Head of Delegated Commissioning for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire said: “Since taking on commissioning for dental services from NHS England in 2023, we have been working to increase access to NHS dental services across the two counties. Last year we announced that we had commissioned two new practices in Herefordshire. The first opened in June 2024, and we are pleased to announce the opening of the second Hereford location.
While this is really good news for the Herefordshire, we know that we need to continue to improve access to NHS dental services across the two counties. However, this is a step in the right direction.”
