The owners of a bar in Hereford have taken to social media to issue a message, stating that discrimination won’t be tolerated in their venue.
In a post on Facebook, the owners of Thirst Trap on Union Street in Hereford, said:
“A quick memo folks. If you think you’re going to get away with “discreet” homophobia behind our backs, then think again.
“Nothing gets past our amazing door staff, and feigning ignorance is not a defence when you have been continuously pushing our buttons over a period of hours.
“If you walk past and say to your mate: Go in there? Not a f**king chance mate….because you think it’s a gay bar. It’s not. It’s a safe space for everybody. And judging by the feedback from those who came in last night, who are from all walks of life, then you’re missing out.
“If you are a straight man begrudgingly walking in whilst saying: As long as I don’t get molested because you think it’s a gay bar. Look around.
“The majority of our customers are there for the music, the vibe and the good beer. Molestation is not generally practised, neither is it tolerated.
“Also, if you mean what I think you mean, LGBTQ+ people are not a threat to you, even though I’m sure the struggle is real when you are so irresistible to so many other members of the human race.
“The fight against discrimination continues on.”
