Holmer Primary School is proud to announce that its Headteacher, Mrs. Maund, has been named a Bronze Award winner in the prestigious Pearson National Headteacher of the Year Awards.
Selected from thousands of nominations across the UK, Mrs. Maund has been recognised for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and steadfast commitment to the Holmer school community. The award celebrates her tireless efforts to create an inclusive, high-achieving environment where pupils and staff alike are supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed.
“Holmer is more than just a school to Mrs. Maund — it is her passion, her purpose, and, in her words, ‘her baby,’” said Mrs Keating (Deputy Head). “Her leadership is defined by compassion, energy, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every pupil and staff member.”
This national accolade follows a year of notable successes at Holmer, including highly commendable Ofsted and SIAMS inspections. Throughout it all, Mrs. Maund has remained at the heart of school life — from supporting teaching and learning to cheering on students at sports fixtures and even stepping in during the floods with her wellies on.
She is known for her hands-on approach, whether helping in the lunch hall or providing a listening ear to pupils, staff, and families. Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, embodying the school’s vision: “Inspiring us all to create a better world.”
“This award is a testament to Mrs. Maund’s exceptional leadership and her unwavering commitment to the wellbeing and success of our school community,” said the Chair of Governors. “We are incredibly proud of her and grateful for all that she brings to Holmer.”
The Pearson National Teaching Awards are an annual celebration of excellence in education, recognising outstanding educators from across the UK. The Bronze Award places Mrs. Maund among the top educational leaders in the country.
