There appears to have been an increase in the costs of moving the planters for the May Fair in Hereford.
In 2023, Herefordshire Council confirmed that it cost a total of £25,083 to move the planters for the fair, but a recent freedom of information request shows that the figure for 2025 has risen.
Freedom of Information Request:
“Could you please advise me re the total costs of removing & replacing the street furniture in the city centre for the fair?
“This to include moving of planters, plus overtime costs of working on Monday 5th May, a bank holiday.”
Answer:
“The Service Area have been able to advise the total costs related to temporary removal and reinstallation of street furniture for Hereford and Leominster Mayfair, including planter removal, and overtime working on the bank holiday, are as follows.”
Hereford Mayfair = £26,155.89
Leominster Mayfair = £5,495.36
