West Midlands Ambulance Service have provided an update on a serious collision on the A465 (Hereford to Abergavenny) Road on Saturday.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called at 6.07pm on Saturday 7th June to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the A465 from Golden Post Road to B4 in Allensmore.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS emergency doctor,  a Critical Care Car from Midlands Air Ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill attended the scene.

“Upon arrival we found three patients. Firstly, the driver and passenger in the first car.

“The passenger had sustained potentially life threatening injuries. He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital via air ambulance for further treatment.

“The driver had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment.

The driver of the second car declined assessment from ambulance staff.”
