Appeal following racially aggravated assault

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was assaulted during a racially aggravated incident in Hereford on Saturday 17 May.

Around 8.50pm in Whitecross Park on West Failing Street, a 14-year-old boy was assaulted by a group of young people who kicked and hit him. They also used racial slurs to verbally abuse him.

The victim did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

It is thought the group was made up of ten to fifteen boys of a similar age to the victim. One of the boys was believed to be wearing a pink jacket and blue jeans.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything at the time of the incident or might have information to assist with enquiries.
