West Midlands Ambulance Service have provided an update on a serious collision that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The collision occurred on the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny Road. The road remained closed for several hours.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:

“We were called to reports of an RTC involving a car and a tree on the A465 between Hereford and Allensmore at 3.57am on Sunday 4th May.

“Two Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) BASICS doctors, a critical care paramedic, an ambulance and paramedic officer responded to the scene.

“The car driver, a man, sustained serious injuries and received trauma care before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called at 3.58am to the A465 near Golden Post Road on Sunday (May 4) to reports of a vehicle colliding with a tree.

“The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old male, was taken to hospital with serious injuries for further treatment.”
