A man accused of killing another man in Hereford has pleaded guilty to murder.
Matthew Jonathon, 39, of no fixed abode, was charged with the murder of 54-year-old Jamie Gawler earlier this year.
Jamie Gawler was found dead at his home in Brierley Court in Hereford on Saturday 18 January.
Jonathon was remanded in custody for sentencing on the 27 June at Worcester Crown Court.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher, said: “My thoughts continue to be with the family of Mr Gawler.
“I am pleased there has been a guilty plea so the family are spared the trial and justice can be served.”

The family of a man who was found dead in Hereford have paid tribute to a much-loved son, brother, uncle and friend.

On Saturday (18 January) officers attended an address on Brierley Court in Hereford and sadly 54-year-old Jamie Gawler was pronounced deceased at the scene.
In a statement his family said: “Jamie was a true gentleman and a very much-loved son, brother, uncle and friend. The family are devastated by his passing and will remember him as the kind, generous and funny man he was.”
