A man who attempted to murder his neighbour, has been sentenced to 21 years and nine months in prison.

Bryan Robson, aged 50 of Moorfield Street, Hereford appeared at Worcester Crown Court today (4 April) after pleading guilty to attempted murder.

Police were called to Moorfield Street on the afternoon of Wednesday 9 October, and found a 42-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and arms. A three-inch bladed knife was found at the address.

The victim’s injuries were potentially life-threatening and he was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition. He spent four weeks in hospital and required surgery.

Robson was charged with the offences and remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Catherine Taylor said “This was a brutal attack which left a man critically injured.

“The police officers acted swiftly on attendance to the scene. They were able to quickly apprehend Robson and provide first aid to the victim. Officers worked tirelessly to bring Robson to justice before the courts.

“We would like to reassure our communities that violence like this is rare, and that this was an isolated incident.”
