Press Release – Luctonians Rugby Club:

On Saturday, March 8th, Luctonians 2nd XV hosted Leamington RFC at their home ground, Mortimer Park, for a crucial match.

A victory at home would crown Luctonians 2nd XV as champions of Counties 1 Midlands West (South).

This match held extra significance because, despite being league champions for the past two seasons, Luctonians 2nd XV had not been given promotion from Level 7.

However, the RFU has changed the regulations this season, which means that a win at home would not only make them league champions but also promote them to Level 6 for the 2025/2026 season.

The final score was Luctonians 2nd XV 32 vs 12 Leamington RFC, with both teams delivering impressive performances.

Brett Prior, our 2ndXV coach, said:

“This season has been an unforgettable journey. The playing group, the coaches, the club staff, volunteers and family and friends; we can all celebrate in this playing group’s success. Another milestone for our great club and local community.’

Luctonians 2nd XV look forward to joining local teams Ludlow RFC, Ledbury RFC, and hopefully Hereford RFC next season at Level 6.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, support staff, and supporters who have stayed committed throughout these past three years.

We can’t wait to see what next season brings!
