Hereford Police received a call around 5:30pm this afternoon (9 March) with the concern for the welfare of a man on Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford.
Officers attended and the man was located and has been taken to the Hereford County Hospital.
The bridge will remain closed at this time.
Earlier Update:
The A49 is closed at Greyfriars Bridge in Hereford due to an ongoing incident this evening.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are at the scene.
The Air Ambulance has also been called to the incident.
Traffic is backing up on the A49 along Victoria Street and onto Edgar Street.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
