A Brecon man has been jailed after being found guilty of multiple child sex offences.
72-year-old Paul Lewis, from Brecon, has been found guilty of two counts of rape, five counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency with a child.
He was sentenced on Friday February 14, 2025, at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court to 15 years in prison, and has been made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) preventing him from contacting any child under the age of 16. He will remain on the sexual offenders register for life.
Detective Constable Nicholas Murray said:
âPaul Lewis is a dangerous individual who preyed upon his child victim with absolutely no regard for her wellbeing.
âI commend the bravery of the victim in coming forward to report his actions, which was instrumental in helping bring him to justice.
âI hope this sentence brings some comfort to the victim and their family, all of whom have been through a harrowing ordeal.â
