West Mercia Police officers in Leominster have launched an investigation, after a young female teenager was assault on a footpath in the town this afternoon (Sunday).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Leominster Safer Neighbourhood Team are seeking information from any member of the public that may have witnessed an assault taking place on the footpath that leads from SOUTH STREET, LEOMINSTER to HALO Leisure Centre, which does also go past EARL MORTIMER’s school car park.
“On Sunday 12th JANUARY 2025 between the hours of 15:15-15:45hrs, police were notified that at the above location, a young female teenager had been assaulted whilst walking home.
“The victim suffered a repeated assault from 2 female teenagers (who have been identified) which appears to be unprovoked from initial information.
“The victim has been left shaken and shocked by the incident but fortunately no serious injuries have been sustained.
“Police are keen to speak to two women that had been passing through the area at the time of the incident; a female dog walker and a female with a pram, as they may have witnessed all or part of the incident.
“They also offered the victim help at the scene and sought to intervene in the incident, which I would like to say thank you for.
