A Hereford business has been forced to close this morning due to flooding.

County Building Supplies, located on Mortimer Road in Hereford shared the following update on social media:

“County Building Supplies, Hereford is currently closed due to Flooding. Hoping to re-open later this morning.

“Will keep you updated.”

A further spell of heavy rain has caused localised flooding across parts of Herefordshire overnight.

Parts of the A44 near Broadwas became impassable overnight due to flooding, with standing water causing issues on many other routes.

Holme Lacy Road in Hereford currently has flood water under the railway bridge, with motorists advised to use the Rotherwas Access Road instead to access Rotherwas and Skylon Park.

A number of flood alerts have been issued across Herefordshire. These include:

River Wye

River Lugg

River Leadon Catchment

River Frome

No major flooding is expected, but some riverside paths and fields are likely to flood throughout today (Thursday).
