A number of Herefordshire schools have confirmed that they will be closed today (Monday) due to flooding.

Wigmore High School is closed today due to flooding:

”With extensive flooding and road closures, Wigmore High School is closed today. Lessons will move online to Microsoft Teams. The Y11 mock exams scheduled for today will be rescheduled.”

Pembridge CE Primary School is closed due to flooding:

“The school is closed due to flooding. Staff and pupils are unable to travel safely to school.”

Kimbolton Primary School is also closed due to flooding.

Ivington Primary School will be closed today due to flooding in the local area.

Marden Primary School is closed due to travel issues as a result of flooding.

Sutton Primary Academy is closed due to flooding.

Brookfield Specialist School in Hereford is partially closed.

“Some classes shut due to staffing unable to travel in or childcare issues. We will contact you all with details.”

Fairfield High School in Herefordshire sent an email to parents this evening to confirm that the school would be closed on Monday.

Westfield School in Leominster shared the following update:

“Due to flooding on routes used by staff and pupils to travel between home and school safely, some from significant distances, we have taken the advance decision to close to pupils on Monday 25th November, since we cannot guarantee these routes will be clear or safe by tomorrow morning.”

St Mary’s CE Primary School:

‘Due to significant road closures across the County (following this weekend’s flooding) we have taken the advance decision to close to pupils on Monday 25th November, since we cannot guarantee these routes will be clear or safe by tomorrow morning.

This information has been communicated to the school community via text alerts on 24th November and the Local Authority have been informed as required.

Heavy rain associated with Storm Bert has caused localised flooding on routes across the county.

The A49 is closed between Leominster and Ludlow due to flooding near OK Diner. A stretch of the A49 is also flooded near Wellington, between Dinmore and Hereford.
