West Mercia Police are appealing for information following a suspicious incident in a Herefordshire village on Sunday evening.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“We’d like to make residents aware of a recent incident in St Peter’s Close, Moreton on Lugg.
“On Sunday evening around 6:30 pm, a resident reported loud knocking on their front door.
“Upon checking, they found a slate sign with “Church House Farm” left on their doorstep, with no one visible in the area.
“After placing the sign in their porch, there was another knock a few minutes later, and the sign had been returned to the doorstep.
“While this may have been intended as a prank, it understandably caused some distress.
“The resident has since returned the sign to its rightful owner, but we’d like to gather more information to understand who might be responsible.
“We ask anyone living nearby, particularly around Cedar Close or Church House Farm, to check their CCTV if available.
“If you noticed any unusual activity on Sunday evening, please share it with us. Our team will be increasing evening patrols in the area over the next few days to monitor for any similar behaviour.
“If you or someone you know has experienced anything like this recently, or if you have any information that might help, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
“Your help is invaluable in keeping Moreton on Lugg a safe and welcoming community.”
