A crew from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service remain on the scene of a fire in Ledbury this morning.
The fire occurred on an industrial estate in the market town on Tuesday afternoon, with local residents told to keep windows and doors closed.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Four Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Fownhope and Malvern Fire Stations – plus the aerial ladder platform from Hereford, the incident command unt from Wyre Forest, the incident support unit from Droitwich, the drone from Ledbury and a Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Tewkesbury were called at 14:24 on 5 November to a building fire on Dymock Road, Ledbury.
“A single-storey building, around 30m by 15m, was well alight with a fire fought by eight firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a compressed air foam system, two main jets and a hosereel jet.
“All persons were evacuated from the building.
“Crews from Leominster, Upton-upon-Severn, Eardisley, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove and Worcester subsequently attended as relief with firefighting operations continuing through the evening and night with attendance gradually scaled back.
“One crew remains in attendance, dampening down with a main jet and using a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.”
