A route linking two Herefordshire villages is closed this morning following a collision.
The road between Moreton-on-Lugg village and Marden is closed following a collision overnight.
A vehicle is currently blocking the bridge over the River Lugg. Police are at the scene.
We understand that the bridge may have sustained some damage.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“We were called to a single-vehicle collision on the Moreton-on-Lugg bridge in Herefordshire, yesterday (31 October) at 10.20pm.
“One man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He remains in police custody.”
The main Hereford to Sutton St Nicholas Road is also closed due to roadworks so motorists living in the Marden area face long diversions to access the village this morning.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
We’ve approached Herefordshire Highways for further information.
More soon.
