A drug dealer who was caught red handed with wraps of class A drugs by officers has been handed a sentence of three years at court.
Brandon Scott, 26, of Baxters Walk, Malvern, was convicted of possess with intent to supply a class A drug – crack cocaine and possess with intent to supply a class A drug – heroin on Monday (7 October) at Worcester Crown Court.
Scott’s conviction follows an investigation by the County Lines team that began when he was spotted in the Wyld’s Lane area of Worcester by officers on 11 October 2023 suspected to be drug dealing to local users.
The next day police entered an address in Fieldhouse Gardens, Worcester where Scott was staying and saw him throw 18 wraps out of a window later found to contain cocaine and heroin.
He was arrested and a phone seized from his pocket showed he was in contact with a drugs line – a dedicated phone number used to run the organised drug-dealing network.
Despite denying he had prepared the wraps for sale and instead claiming he had bulk bought them for personal use, investigations into his phone messages showed he had been dealing them to local users.
Detective Constable Stuart King, of South Worcestershire County Lines team, said: “Scott was spotted drug dealing and the next day caught red handed trying to throw away wraps he was selling when we turned up at an address he was staying at.
“Further investigations showed he was involved in a county line, so we are pleased his conviction puts another drug dealing enterprise out of action and the perpetrator behind bars.
“We will not stop in our ongoing efforts to tackle county lines dealers and the harm they reap on the communities we are here to protect and serve.”
