Emergency services were called to the River Wye in Hereford this morning, following a concern for safety.

West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident. 

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire: 

“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire Station plus boat crews from Hereford and Worcester and the Urban Search and Rescue dog were called at 08:33 on 2 October to a concern for safety at Outfall Works Road, Hereford.

“A woman was rescued from the water edge and handed over to the care of the ambulance service and police.

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 09:28.”
