Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to an incident in Hereford this morning.

The incident occurred on Newtown Road (A49).

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire Station was called at 06:40 on 20 September to smoke in the area of Newtown Road, Hereford. 

“A fire measuring around 3m by 1m under a bridge was extinguished using one hosereel jet. 

“There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. 

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 07:22.”

The road is now clear.
