A man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A40 in Herefordshire.

West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were all called to the incident near Ross-on-Wye on Wednesday evening. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:

“We were called to reports of a collision on the A40 Herefordshire westbound near Goodrich towards Whitchurch at 5.40pm last night (Wednesday) involving a man who had left his vehicle and was struck by a lorry.

“Fire service, ambulance and air ambulance also attended but unfortunately, the man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There was a road closure in place on the A40 westbound at this location at the time which was lifted around 3.45am this morning.”
