Striker Cawley Cox has signed for Westfields Football Club, follow a spell during pre season at Merthyr Town.

Cawley Cox is no stranger to Allpay Park, having played for Fields previously, before moving to Hereford Pegasus, where he helped them secure promotion to the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Cox scored 24 goals in 40 appearances last season in the Hellenic League Premier Division and his clinical finishing alongside his impressive all round game caught the eye of a number of sides, including Merthyr Town.

Cox scored twice for Merthyr in pre season, with Merthyr manager Paul Michael praising the young forward by saying:

“Good luck at Westfields Cawley Cox. Did very well with Merthyr Town pre-season, and right now needs to continue playing and maintain the momentum he built last season and will do that in a quality environment with Nick Morgan and Lee Kendall.”

Westfields Joint Manager Nick Morgan is delighted to add Cawley to his squad. Nick said:

“It is great to finally get Cawley signed and over the line.

“We have monitored his off season very closely and his return to Westfields has come at a great time for the club.

“He is an exceptional young, hungry striker with a great eye for goal. We as a management team are really looking forward to working with him.

“Personally I am excited to see what the season brings with him in our ranks.”
