The creator of the world’s most popular fishing fly, the Klinkhåmer, is coming to Shropshire on 15 August and his fans are welcome to join him at Ashford Carbonnel village hall at 7pm that evening when he will give a talk and tie his famous fly.
Tickets which include a one course meal, are £10 and must be pre-booked from Ludlow countryside book publisher Merlin Unwin Books on 01584 877456.
The Klinkhåmer fly is former Dutch army officer Hans’ creation 40 years ago, and today it is perfected as the Klinkhåmer Special, a fly that catches fish from England to the USA and from Mongolia to Norway.
This summer marks the 40th anniversary of this iconic fish-catching miracle fly and Merlin Unwin Books were proud to publish Hans’ book this year telling the whole story of the Klinkhåmer and its development, with step-by-step tying instructions.
Signed copies will be available on the night which is expected to attract flyfishers from all over the Marches.
