Herefordshire North’s new MP Ellie Chowns (Green Party) has promised to ‘work her socks off’ for her constituency as she heads to Parliament this morning.

Ellie has had a busy few days, after her successful campaign saw her gain thousands more votes in North Herefordshire than Sir Bill Wiggin (Conservative).

She has taken part in many tv interviews, including with the BBC and Channel 4, but will head to Parliament, alongside hundreds of newly elected MPs this morning.

Ellie Chowns shared the following message on social media after being elected as MP for North Herefordshire:

“It is an absolute honour to have been elected MP for North Herefordshire, and I can’t wait to get started serving our wonderful constituency.

“My office will be up and running soon, but in the meantime please do get in touch via the following email address: ellie@elliechowns.org.uk

“Thank you.”

From the Green Party website:

“I am your new MP to change things for the better. I promise to use my skills and experience to stand up for you.

“I’ve lived in Herefordshire for 20 years with my family.

“As a local councillor, I’ve initiated projects including the Shop Local voucher scheme and the Free Weekend Buses. I also served as a Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands.

“My top priorities are strengthening our local economy, improving public services, and protecting nature.

“Herefordshire needs an effective and principled MP.

“I’m here to listen to you and represent you as a strong champion for North Herefordshire in Westminster!”
