A dog owner has issued a warning to dog walkers in Hereford, after her dog had to have an operation after cutting its paw on broken glass near the River Wye.
Kate contacted Your Herefordshire this afternoon and said:
“Would you please mind posting a warning to dog walkers please?
“Yesterday morning I walked my dog Maggie on one of our regular routes, she always likes to splash around in the water near the Victoria Bridge or Bartonsham Meadows.
“She played about in the water on the beach, Bartonsham Meadow side and cut her paw very badly on the pebble beach.
“This resulted in a sedated procedure to stitch and glue her pad back together.
“We meet many dogs on our walks in all areas up and down the river, I would just like to warn people of the smashed glass bottles that are in the area.”
