Motorists are being told to avoid the A49 at Dinmore Hill in Herefordshire following a collision this afternoon.
West Mercia Police first warned motorists about a broken down lorry on the A49, heading southbound at Dinmore Hill, but had said that the road remained open.
However, a short while after issuing that update, a further update was shared by Police saying that a collision had occurred at the junction with the A417, on the Leominster side of Dinmore Hill, resulting in the road being closed.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Road closure due to RTC, A49 Hope under Dinmore near to junc A417.
“Likely to be closed for a number of hours, please avoid this area and use an alternative route.”
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
