Fire crews from across the county and beyond have been tackling a fire at the Special Metals (Wiggin) factory in Hereford this morning.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire had been called to the incident, after first receiving notification of a fire at around 8.10am this morning.
Crews remain at the scene, but Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that all persons have been accounted for.
West Mercia Police were also informed of the incident.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Five Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – three from Hereford, one from Ross-on-Wye and one from Leominster – plus the incident command unit and drone from Ledbury, the water carrier from Evesham and the aerial ladder platform from Worcester were called at 08:06 on 30 August to fire at a factory in Holmer Road, Hereford.
“A fire in a substation has spread to a single storey building, around 120m by 90m, used as a metal warehouse.
“The fire is being fought by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using two hosereel jets.
“All persons are accounted for. Police have been informed.”
