A woman has been taken to hospital after she was attacked by a dog when she was out for a walk alongside a local river.
Reports on social media confirmed that an 18-year-old woman had been subjected to an attack by a dog on Tuesday evening.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“I can confirm we received a report last night at just before 8pm reporting that a woman was bitten by a pitbull type dog when walking by river near to The Talbot Hotel in Bromyard Road in Knightwick at around 6pm last night (Tuesday 23 May).
“The woman who was bitten was taken straight to hospital and is still at the Worcester Royal Hospital waiting to have an operation. Arrangements will be made to see her as soon as she is fit and able to talk to officers.
“The victim has not been seen yet by officers so these are the details we have at the moment.
“The owner(s) of the dog had three dogs with him – a brown pitbull was the dog that the woman was bitten by. The owner also had a brown Labrador and a grey pitbull.
“There was a man and a woman with the dogs. The man is described as being a white man, short, with a ginger goatee/beard, he was wearing a grey tank top, beige shorts and a hat.
“The woman is described as short with blonde hair and wearing a white t shirt.
“Anyone with any information or indeed you are the dog owners please contact us on 101 and quote incident number 487i of 23 May.”
