Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews have rescued a person and their dog from the River Lugg in Herefordshire.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:
“On Friday crews from Hereford, Worcester Fire Station and Ledbury Fire Station were mobilised to a water rescue in Sutton St. Nicholas.
“On arrival crews searched the River Lugg and located the incident.
“Swiftwater Rescue Technicians (SRT) trained personnel deployed and rescued one person and their dog.
“Luckily one person had self-rescued prior to our arrival.
“This is an opportunity to remind us all that our water courses can be dangerous.
“If you witness an animal in distress please refrain from attempting to rescue and call the emergency services.
“For anyone in distress in the water INLAND call 999 and ask for the Fire Service.”
