Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Leominster have issued some important advice about driving in the cold weather following a collision on the A49 at Dinmore Hill on Monday.
A spokesperson for Leominster Fire Station (Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service) said:
“Yesterday lunchtime, we were called to one of our local nursing homes to assist paramedics with a casualty who was having a medical episode and had got stuck in a lift. Using a selection of the tools we carry and our knowledge of the hydraulic systems that operate the lift, we were able to swiftly get the casualty into the care of the paramedics.
“They were then conveyed by ambulance to hospital for the advanced care they required.
“On our way back to station, the crew were then mobilised to an RTC on Dinmore Hill. 1 car had left the carriageway, making contact with trees and two casualties ‘walking wounded’. The scene and casualties were left safe and in the hands of the police.
“Please take care on the roads. It is still very cold out there and the road surfaces are re-freezing. Allow plenty of time for your journey and drive to the conditions. Keep your windows and lights clean and clear and consider your travel distances, with the road surfaces as they currently are!”
