Police are investigating reports of teenagers in Coleford threatening and being violent towards each other over the past few weeks.
Parents have been asked to monitor their children’s social media use, after officers received reports that threats were being made online.
Officers are fully investigating the incidents and will take robust action against those who are involved. They are also working with other agencies to ensure that wider safeguarding measures are in place.
Fearless, the youth service aimed at raising awareness of the impacts of crime amongst young people, is also arranging sessions to educate pupils around violence.
Forest of Dean Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Nick Cook said: “In recent weeks, there have been a number of reports of young people threatening or engaging in violent behaviour in Coleford.
“This sort of behaviour is not acceptable and we will not tolerate these dangerous incidents.
“The young people of Coleford have a right to feel safe and protected in their own community. We will deal robustly with anyone we find engaging in this behaviour.”
