The charge for riding a Beryl e-bike in Hereford is set to increase after Herefordshire Council accepted a request from Beryl to increase the pay as you go charge.

Documents shared by Herefordshire Council show that Herefordshire Council has accepted a Change Control Request from Beryl to implement a price increase on Pay As You Go charges on e-bikes only.

The price will increase from 10p to 12p per minute. The cost of unlocking the bike is will remain unchanged at £1.

Beryl cited the impact of rising energy, supplier and staff costs as key drivers for the increase.

To minimise the impact on users, Minute bundles will remain at the current price as will all pedal bike charges.

Minute bundles provide the best value for riders and they will be promoted in-app to ensure users understand the available saving of switching away from PAYG.
