A local family have been left devastated after a fire tore through their home in Leominster on Sunday evening.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Cheaton Close in Leominster early on Sunday evening to reports of a house fire.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Kingsland and Leominster Fire Stations – were called at 17:29 on 13 November to a house fire in Cheaton Close, Leominster.
“The fire was in the living room of a two-storey house, around 5m by 10m, and was fought by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel jet.
“Venting and cutting away was carried out.
“There were no casualties and no other emergency services were involved. The incident was marked as pending closure at 19:17.”
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family at this awful time.
In a post on the page, a friend of the family said:
“A local family have had a house fire today in which they have lost everything and their home is destroyed and they dont have much.
“They are not in a postion to buy everything again right now. We are asking for your help to help them buy essentials to start rebuilding their home.
“Two children won’t be sleeping in their own beds tonight and their mum is devastated as she was at work when the incedent happened.
“She arrived home to find her whole home gone. We are asking for any donations, even the smallest of things help, please help us rebuild them a home.”
