Your Herefordshire has been contacted by the family of a 3 month old baby girl from Leominster. Below is the story of Sydney as she faces the prospect of upcoming brain surgery.
“Hi my name is Donna. Our little girl Sydney is only 3 months old and has a cyst on her brain.
“It was diagnosed when I was 33 weeks pregnant with her. I had to have an MRI while she was still in my stomach.
“Since being born she has had to have another MRI at 4 weeks old and it (the cyst) has doubled in size. Sydney has to have another MRI to see if it’s got any bigger and then onto brain surgery to put a shunt in.
“It is causing a-lot of pressure which is too much for her little head to handle so surgery is the only option. Sydney will have to stay in hospital to be monitored, for how long no-one knows as they don’t know how she will be after the surgery.
“The surgery will be taking place at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
“As you can imagine right now is an horrendous time for myself and Paul and the last thing we need to worry about is money, with another child to provide for who has special needs himself and an hour and half drive there and back for Paul.
“Money doesn’t grow on trees to pay for fuel, accommodation and our usual bills and we want Paul to be with his baby girl rather than having to work every day to keep our heads above water.
“It’s going to be a long road for Sydney and the recovery time.
“Please if you can help us in anyway at all just a small donation will go along for our beautiful family!”
