Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum have issued an important update for any visitors planning to visit the park next week.

A post on the Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum Facebook page said:

“Please note that next week (from 3rd October) some paths and areas of the arboretum will be closed to the public as we carry out some thinning of trees. This will include the summer garden and lower part of Nutts Ride path and there may be temporary diversions to the badger trail and Gruffalo trail.

“The work is part of our five-year woodland management plan which aims to create a more open woodland structure, allowing light to filter through to the woodland floor.

“This allows woodland plants and wildflowers to thrive and this in turn, provides habitat for woodland butterfly species and other pollinating insects. It also gives space for the specimen trees within the arboretum to flourish.”
