Elena says that she is doing this to raise awareness, support and vital funding for those affected by cancer in the Armed Forces. The charity she has chosen is called Military vs Cancer.
They provide treatment, emotional support to patients and families during the ongoing stages of their cancer journey.
Elena’s story:
“I decided to challenge myself even more than I did last year by completing 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days wearing 10kg body armour, in the name of Military vs Cancer in August 2022.
“We all know someone who has and is going through cancer. Its a horrific thing that will never go away.
“I am doing the charity event to raise awareness and money for military personnel across the Tri-Service environment going though or have experiences with cancer, we have all experienced losing loved ones.
“Having lost my biological mum to cancer and watching my adopted mum going through cancer treatment is something horrific and it really spurred me on to help and to manage my stress levels whilst going through their process
“They have been absolutely fantastic and deserve every penny i can raise for them.
