West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses and more information following an incident in a Herefordshire village.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“The Burghill Valley Golf Club has been a victim of cooking oil being stolen from their grounds.
“Businesses that use cooking oil have to dispose of it in the correct way. Whilst the cooking oil has been left outside to be collected, offender(s) have stolen it (it can not be left indoors). This has now happened on more than one occasion and is happening sometime before the Golf Club is open for the day.
“There has been a suspicious Ford transit Connect seen in the car park at 5am one morning but unfortunately a vehicle registration number wasn’t taken at the time.
“It is believed that the cooking oil is being filtered and used as fuel.
“If you are in the area in the early morning, please keep an eye out for any suspicious vehicles/behaviour and report it to the Police on 101/999.”
