Emergency services were called to an incident in the South Wye area of Hereford this evening.
West Mercia Police were called to an incident near the Asda Superstore junction on the A49 at around 10pm. Motorists reported seeing several police cars, with a highways team also in attendance.
Traffic was temporarily backed up along Belmont Road and also on Greyfriars Bridge. The incident was affecting the northbound carriageway of the A49.
The road remains open.
