A no confidence vote to take place later today as at least 54 Conservative MPs have withdrawn their support for the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and submitted letters.
It comes as MP for Hereford and Herefordshire South Jesse Norman confirmed this morning that he could no longer support the Prime Minister, despite doing so for 15 years.
Sir Graham Brady, the head of the 1922 Committee has confirmed that the 15% threshold had been reached and that a no confidence vote was expected to take place between 6pm and 8pm this evening.
Pressure has been growing on the Prime Minister for some time, with the controversial Rwanda immigration policy, the Northern Ireland backstop and the partygate scandal all putting further doubt into his leadership.
The Prime Minister was also booed by members of the public when attending a number of events during the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
