A local resident is warning members of the public, especially those owning a dog, to be careful in an area of Hereford after her dog was attacked.
The owner, who lives in the Moor Farm area of Hereford said:
“This is a warning to all dog owners in the Moor Farm area of Hereford.
“This morning my lovely dog, Maisie, was viciously attacked by a Jack Russell near Trinity playground. Many of you dog walkers know Maisie, our 11 year old Beagle. She has never been any trouble to anyone.
She is the dog that will come check you for treats. At 10.30am we were walking home and a Jack Russell ran out of a ground floor flat, attacked Maisie and ran back into the flat.
This is the second time it has happened to us and I believe it has happened to other friendly dogs before. I rushed Maisie to the vet where she spent the rest of the day having numerous stitches to replace the skin torn off her leg. I have reported this to the police, RSPCA and council.
The police might have a word with the owner. Please do not walk along that part of Barricombe Drive. Keep a look out for this Jack Russell, who is sometimes off its lead. Our bill so far is nearly £400. The vet believes Maisie may need further skin grafts. Thank you to Holmer Vets for acting so quickly. She is home tonight (Saturday) and what a state she is. Please be aware of this for your dogs. The park has so many lovely dogs.
