West Mercia Police officers have issued a warning after receiving reports of a man offering to tarmac driveways for free in Herefordshire.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“This week we have received calls about a male offering to tarmac driveways for FREE in the Stoke Edith area of Hereford. The male claimed to be from a “road maintenance team” and stated that he had spare tarmac that he needed to get rid of. The male stated his name was Tim and is described as having a Manchester accent, in his late 20’s, stocky build with ginger hair.
“The vehicle that he was in is described as a black vehicle with yellow stripes and a flashing yellow light. Fortunately, the kind offer of a free driveway was declined by the occupants and no harm was done.
“Please remain vigilant and keep an eye out for this male/vehicle. If seen then please report it to the Police at the time via 101 so that officers can get to the area and catch him.”
