The opening week sales at The Food Warehouse in Hereford have been confirmed as the second highest opening week figures in the history of the company.
Richard Walker, manager director at Iceland posted the following on Twitter earlier today:
It may come as no surprise to some, with customers queuing outside the new store in the early hours of the morning on the opening day, with one customer turning up at 1.30am.
The first 100 customers visiting the new Food Warehouse store received a voucher worth between £5 and £100 to spend in store.
As first revealed by Your Herefordshire back in June 2021, The Food Warehouse by Iceland will move into the unit that was previously occupied by Oak Furniture Land on Holmer Road in the city.
Around 25 jobs have been created, with Iceland confirming that its store in Hereford city centre will remain open.
The investment from The Food Warehouse is seen as a major boost to the city of Hereford, with Home Bargains also currently closed and undergoing a major redevelopment which will see it almost double in size. Home Bargains, also on Holmer Road, will reopen in May.
