Officers investigating the death of Ian Kirwan in Redditch have today (Sunday 13 March) arrested a further youth on suspicion of murder, bringing the total arrested to 12.
The youth remains in police custody as investigations continue into the incident, which happened on Jinnah Road on Tuesday 8 March and led to the death of Ian Kirwan from Redditch.
Officers have also confirmed that formal identification has now taken place.
A 14-year-old male appeared at Kidderminister Magistrates Court on Friday 11 March charged with the 53-year-old’s murder and was remanded in custody. He will now appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday 14 March.
Three youths have also been bailed and seven released with no further action in connection with the incident.
Redditch Asda has since reopened and Safer Neighbourhood Officers are maintaining a highly visible presence in the town.
